CAPTAIN · JACOBUS PIETERSE
Originally from South Africa, Captain Jacobus Pieterse - who goes by the name of Jaco (pronounced "Yako") - has a friendly, empathetic and easy going personality.
Driven by his deep affinity for the water, Jaco embarked on a yachting career, amassing an impressive 30 years of experience in various maritime activities, including yacht chartering, diving, and yacht deliveries encompassing both power and sail vessels.
Jaco possesses a natural ability to engage in meaningful conversations and possesses a strong spirit of adventure, which fuels his desire to explore new destinations. He has devoted considerable time to cruising the vast, unspoiled areas of the Indian Ocean, a region he holds in high regard. In 2015, he arrived in Saint Maarten where he has since navigated the local waters extensively to become an expert of the area, allowing him to create bespoke itineraries to suit guest preferences.
Jaco lives by the motto "Be honest and real to yourself and others." His genuine enthusiasm and meticulous attention to detail ensure an outstanding charter experience aboard Eclipse.
CHIEF STEWARDESS · MERUGIA VELDKAMP
Merugia hails from The Netherlands and possesses a spirited sense of adventure. Her time in Australia proved instrumental in honing various skills that have proven invaluable in her role aboard the Eclipse. Throughout her career, she has embraced diverse roles such as a waitress, hostess, barista, bartender, housekeeper, and social counselor.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Merugia finds joy in engaging in water sports, singing, and Salsa dancing. However, beneath her sweet air lies a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
As Chief Stewardess aboard Eclipse, she eagerly anticipates the opportunity to provide exemplary hosting and service to our esteemed guests.
CHIEF MATE · MARCO DE VILLIERS
Another native of South Africa, Marco's yearning to explore the world led him to follow his curiosity and passion for the ocean by embarking on a sailing journey. It was during this time that he discovered a deep affinity for yachts and watersports, prompting him to pursue opportunities on various vessels.
In addition to his love for the ocean, Marco is a musician and DJ. Apart from his role in assisting with watersports and thrilling adventures, he takes pleasure in curating the perfect music and fostering a lively atmosphere for guests on board. Marco is a friendly, diligent, and supportive member of the Eclipse crew, always willing to lend a helping hand.
